En revanche, les combustibles solides et l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 notamment sont appel\u00e9s \u00e0 remplir ce r\u00f4le, surtout pour les temp\u00e9ratures \u00e9lev\u00e9es.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour parvenir \u00e0 une r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre \u00e0 z\u00e9ro net, il faut \u00e9galement trouver des solutions pour les secteurs pour lesquels il n\u2019est gu\u00e8re possible de renoncer \u00e0 des agents \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques chimiques. Outre le trafic a\u00e9rien, l\u2019industrie est concern\u00e9e, notamment en ce qui concerne la production de chaleur industrielle \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actuellement, 32\u202f% \u2013 soit 12\u202ft\u00e9rawattheures (TWh) par an \u2013 environ de l\u2019\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 l&rsquo;industrie suisse sont couverts par les combustibles fossiles (OFEN, 2023\u202f; tableau\u202f4). Ce secteur repr\u00e9sente 23\u202f% du total des \u00e9missions suisses de CO<sub>2<\/sub> (OFEV, 2022). En partenariat avec d&rsquo;autres institutions suisses, une \u00e9quipe de l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/esc.ethz.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Energy Science Center de l&rsquo;EPFZ<\/a>, analyse dans le cadre du projet SWEET <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweet-decarb.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DeCarbCH<\/a> comment r\u00e9duire ces \u00e9missions. Le projet s\u2019appuie notamment sur la mod\u00e9lisation du syst\u00e8me \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique suisse dans son ensemble, pour d\u00e9terminer quels sont les combustibles et les technologies qui permettront la production de la chaleur industrielle n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 l\u2019industrie.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nos mod\u00e8les actuels partent du principe que la consommation finale de chaleur industrielle restera dans les grandes lignes au niveau actuel de\u202f20\u202fTWh par an en\u202f2050. Le choix des technologies \u00e0 employer pour produire cette chaleur d\u00e9pend de la temp\u00e9rature des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s n\u00e9cessaire, et bien \u00e9videmment de la capacit\u00e9 concurrentielle de la technologie en question. Les proc\u00e9d\u00e9s industriels requi\u00e8rent des temp\u00e9ratures vari\u00e9es, qui vont de 80\u202f\u00b0C \u00e0 bien au-del\u00e0 de 1000\u202f\u00b0C pour la fabrication de ciment. D\u00e9terminer avec pr\u00e9cision la temp\u00e9rature \u00e0 laquelle correspond effectivement le besoin de chaleur industrielle s\u2019est av\u00e9r\u00e9 difficile. Pour la mod\u00e9lisation actuelle, par simplification, nous avons donc d\u00e9fini une r\u00e9partition de la consommation finale (fabrication de ciment non comprise) dans trois plages de temp\u00e9rature comme suit : 25 % pour les temp\u00e9ratures inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 100 \u00b0C, 25 % pour les temp\u00e9ratures comprises entre 100 et 200\u202f\u00b0C et 50 % pour les temp\u00e9ratures de plus de 200\u202f\u00b0C.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n                    <div id=\"r6a2fc0080e2fa\" class=\"default-single-post-title \">\n                <h4>Large gamme de temp\u00e9ratures n\u00e9cessaires <\/h4>\n            <\/div>\n        \n\n\n\n<p>Le solaire thermique et la g\u00e9othermie en profondeur sont des technologies adapt\u00e9es aux temp\u00e9ratures inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0\u202f100\u202f\u00b0C. Pour atteindre les temp\u00e9ratures recherch\u00e9es dans la plage moyenne, entre 100\u202fet 200\u202f\u00b0C, ces deux sources peuvent \u00eatre compl\u00e9t\u00e9es par une pompe \u00e0 chaleur industrielle. Autre possibilit\u00e9, des installations de couplage chaleur-force (installations\u202fCCF) pourront produire la vapeur n\u00e9cessaire aux proc\u00e9d\u00e9s.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les proc\u00e9d\u00e9s \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature (plus de 200\u202f\u00b0C) exigent des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de combustion ou encore des chauffages \u00e0 r\u00e9sistance qui convertissent l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 directement en chaleur. Pour la production de ciment, seuls des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de combustion sont envisageables. Les combustibles disponibles pour ce faire sont surtout des gaz (m\u00e9thane, hydrog\u00e8ne), des liquides (mazout) et des solides (d\u00e9chets, bois, boues d\u2019\u00e9puration, charbon).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe de l\u2019EPFZ a calcul\u00e9 un grand nombre de sc\u00e9narios pour chercher des solutions permettant de fournir de la chaleur industrielle dans une d\u00e9marche z\u00e9ro net (illustration\u202f1). Nous avons d\u00e9fini les sc\u00e9narios sur la base de trois \u00e9l\u00e9ments\u202f: la valeur cible des \u00e9missions de CO<sub>2<\/sub> autoris\u00e9es (axe des x\u202f: de 24\u202fm\u00e9gatonnes \u00e0 z\u00e9ro\u202ftonne de CO<sub>2<\/sub> par an)\u202f; le lien Suisse &#8211; Europe (ensemble &#8211; seule), et le degr\u00e9 d&rsquo;int\u00e9gration des innovations \u2013 la g\u00e9othermie par exemple \u2013 (conservateur &#8211; innovant).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1028\" height=\"1200\" src=\"https:\/\/enaw.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241028_enaw_magazin_2024_grafik_eth_fr_an_kunde-1028x1200.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev.enaw.bertaeins.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241028_enaw_magazin_2024_grafik_eth_fr_an_kunde-1028x1200.jpg 1028w, https:\/\/dev.enaw.bertaeins.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241028_enaw_magazin_2024_grafik_eth_fr_an_kunde-514x600.jpg 514w, https:\/\/dev.enaw.bertaeins.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241028_enaw_magazin_2024_grafik_eth_fr_an_kunde-768x896.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dev.enaw.bertaeins.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241028_enaw_magazin_2024_grafik_eth_fr_an_kunde-1316x1536.jpg 1316w, https:\/\/dev.enaw.bertaeins.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241028_enaw_magazin_2024_grafik_eth_fr_an_kunde.jpg 1607w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1028px) 100vw, 1028px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019illustration ci-dessus pr\u00e9sente la chaleur industrielle produite en 2050. Les trois plages de temp\u00e9rature mentionn\u00e9es sont additionn\u00e9es et r\u00e9parties selon les diff\u00e9rentes sources de chaleur. On observe d\u2019abord que les diff\u00e9rentes sources sont pr\u00e9sentes dans des proportions relativement \u00e9gales les unes aux autres\u202f; en d\u2019autres termes, il n\u2019existe pas de source qui dominerait sans \u00e9quivoque. Lorsque les objectifs fix\u00e9s pour le CO<sub>2<\/sub> sont \u00e9lev\u00e9s \u2013 l\u00e0 o\u00f9 des \u00e9missions de CO<sub>2<\/sub> d\u2019origine fossile sont encore autoris\u00e9es\u202f\u2013, il existe une forte proportion de combustibles gazeux, pour la plupart du m\u00e9thane d\u2019origine fossile. Sur la voie du z\u00e9ro \u00e9mission net, on observe un passage aux combustibles solides (d\u00e9chets et bois) et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Lorsque la g\u00e9othermie est disponible dans les sc\u00e9narios innovants, elle fournit une quantit\u00e9 de chaleur consid\u00e9rable dans la plage de temp\u00e9rature basse (inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 100\u202f\u00b0C). Dans les sc\u00e9narios conservateurs dans lesquels l\u2019option de la g\u00e9othermie n\u2019entre pas en ligne de compte, ce r\u00f4le est assum\u00e9 par le solaire thermique.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n                    <div id=\"r6a2fc00822761\" class=\"default-single-post-title \">\n                <h4>Le m\u00e9thane, la source la plus importante de combustibles gazeux <\/h4>\n            <\/div>\n        \n\n\n\n<p>La cat\u00e9gorie des combustibles gazeux fournit encore cinq t\u00e9rawattheures par an dans un sc\u00e9nario z\u00e9ro net\u202f; la proportion d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne est extr\u00eamement faible, la source la plus importante \u00e9tant le m\u00e9thane, qu\u2019il s&rsquo;agisse de gaz naturel import\u00e9 d&rsquo;origine fossile ou de biom\u00e9thane. La disponibilit\u00e9 du biom\u00e9thane est toutefois tributaire d\u2019une forte augmentation de l\u2019utilisation de lisier dans la production de biogaz. La faible proportion de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne s\u2019explique notamment par le fait que l\u2019utilisation d\u2019\u00e9lectrolyse suivie d\u2019une combustion demande nettement plus d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 que lorsque l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 est utilis\u00e9e directement dans un chauffage \u00e0 r\u00e9sistance.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n                    <div id=\"r6a2fc008228d5\" class=\"default-single-post-title \">\n                <h4>L\u2019option de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne import\u00e9 <\/h4>\n            <\/div>\n        \n\n\n\n<p>Mis ensemble, ces r\u00e9sultats indiquent que l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne suisse jouera un r\u00f4le faible dans les applications industrielles \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature. Ce r\u00e9sultat d\u00e9pend surtout de la disponibilit\u00e9 d\u2019options alternatives. Mais il est aussi n\u00e9cessaire que des agents \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques chimiques suisses comme le biom\u00e9thane, le bois ou les d\u00e9chets soient employ\u00e9s avant tout pour des applications \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature et non pas pour la production de chaleur ambiante ou d\u2019eau industrielle.
